UCLA Child and Adult Neurodevelopmental Clinic

Clinical treatment and care for children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders

Welcome to The Jeste Developmental Neurophysiology Lab @

Led by Dr. Shafali Jeste, who is a behavioral child neurologist with specialization in neurodevelopmental disorders, the Jeste lab uses high density EEG and eye tracking to identify brain based biomarkers of risk and diagnosis, as well as outcome, in infants and children with neurodevelopmental disorders with focus on autism and intellectual disability. The lab serves as the electrophysiology core of our UCLA Autism Center for Autism Research and Treatment.

Our lab is driven by the mission of precision in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of infants and children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Such precision relies on the identification of biologically based subgroups within the heterogeneous spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders, as only through the elucidation of mechanisms of atypical development can we design and implement targeted, personalized interventions for these children. We also study several high risk genetic syndromes including Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and Dup15q syndrome. Our lab is funded by an NIH Autism Center of Excellence, the Department of Defense and the DU15q Alliance.
